A productive day

Today, I’m quite pleased to say that I’ve learnt to wet felt! It’s quite satisfying!

I have also completed a crochet cushion cover!

This took awhile to make but it was well worth it!

Crochet chicken!

This is a chicken that I’m crocheting for Easter! I used a great pattern found here

I also needle felted an egg to go with it!
The chicken is bottomless so the egg fits underneath it.

I used a slightly smaller hook than the pattern said, it makes it a bit firmer depending on the wool used. I used a 3.5 mm (E) hook as opposed to a 5.00 mm (H) hook.

I hope you enjoy it!

Crochet coin purse!

With a friend’s birthday sprung on me at the last minute, I needed something quick, easy and useful to make her. So, I came up with this mini coin purse! The beauty of it is that it can be made a thousand times with different colour combinations!

Approximate size: 6 cm x 7 cm

I’ve already made four, with people requesting I now make them one!

I have an addiction…

As it is holidays at the moment, I’ve had a lot of spare time. This has led to a rise in the amount of handcraft I’ve undertaken and ultimately the amount of wool I have bought.

Over the past four days I have bought forty-five 50g balls of wool…

Crocheted iPod/iPhone case

This is the first pattern I’ve written, I hope it’s easy to follow. Let me know how I can improve!

Crocheted iPod case:

Needed:

  • a 4mm crochet hook
  • 12-ply or 8-ply wool in two colours
  • a small button
  • a wool needle

Abbreviations used:

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

hdc = half double crochet

TW = turn work

Method: (Make 2)

Chain 13.

Row 1: hdc in second chain from hook. hdc in each chain along. ch 1.

Row 2: TW, hdc in next hdc. hdc in each along. ch 1.

Row 3 – 16: Repeat row 2.

Tie off, weave in ends.

Assembly:

Sc together the edges of the case, this leaves a bordered effect, leaving one short end open.

To make strap, sc in 3 of the hdc on one side (preferably the back)in the middle. ch 1.

Sc in next sc, sc in sc along.

Repeat for 7 rows.

Make a hole in the end of the strap by moving the crochet hook around, this creates a hole for the button.

Sew button in correct position on ‘right’ side of case.

Enjoy!
